Outside the Office

Outside of my research pursuits, I’m a competitive dog sports trainer and an avid ballroom dancer. Training dogs for high-energy competitions keeps me active and practices the values of patience, discipline, and adaptability—traits I carry into my work. Whether I’m refining algorithms in the lab or running an agility course, I believe in bringing a spirit of curiosity and enthusiasm to everything I do.

Ballroom dancing

I’ve trained and competed in ballroom dance since September 2022 when I joined the MIT Ballroom Dance Team. Dancing gives me the same things that research does: structure, creativity, independent work, and flow. Music and staying active play a large part in my life. When I'm not dancing in the evening, you can find me running with my dog, doing yoga, or in the gym.
